The sixth European Competitions of the Holy Quran

House of Quran in Germany is proud to hold the sixth European Competitions of the Holy Quran in the fields of Azan, memorization, Exegesis and reading from 2-4 March, 2018.

Purpose of this competition:

I. Publication and promotion of Quranic culture and education;

II. Preparation for development and formation of Quranic elite;

III. Increase in fondness of Quran readers with the words of inspiration;

IV. Creation of unity in European Quranic society;

V. Transferring the excellent readers’ experiences to one another.


Fields of competitions:

  • Recitation (men)
  • Memorization (men & women)
  • Tartil (women)
  • Exegesis (men & women)
  • Azan (men)
  • Tawashih (men [without music])
  • Recitation Imitation

Prizes:

Quran Recitation (men-adult)

    • First Prize: 1500 €
    • Second Prize: 1200 €
    • Third Prize: 1000 €
  • Other Tracks: There will be prizes for the winners of other tracks too.
  • 4th to 6th Prizes: Partial cover for round trip tickets (to Hamburg) will be provided to the 4th to 6th winners.
  • The International Competitions: For each country, provided that the local winner – i.e., the winner with the highest scores – can fulfill the minimum requirements, they will be dispatched to the International Quran Competitions.

Requirements for Contestants:

  • The competition will be held in two age ranges, under 16 and over 16 years old.
  • All the Muslims around the Europe in all Islamic branches can participate in the competitions without age limitation.
  • Each contestant can only participate in one of aforementioned fields.
  • The people who took part in previous competitions and won the first to third prizes, can`t take part in the same field; they can enter in another field. However people in second and third place in previous competition can enter the same field after one round of competition.
  • The applicants in European competition in the field of reading must be introduced by European countries House of Quran, or they can enter the competition by sending an audio-video file of their reading via the email.
Requirements for contestants in each field:
I. Recitation:
understanding the rules of Tajvid, the voice and tone of the holy Quran and the ability of reading by observing the rules of recitation according to Hafs from Assem (two first Joz` for youth)
II. Memorization: ability of quick responding and reciting of the raised Ayah by the jury according to Hafs from Assem
III. Memorization field’s groups:
      Adults: 30 Joz’, 20 Joz’, 10 Joz’, 5 Joz’
      Youths: The 30th Joz’ and 5 Joz
IV. Exegesis field’s group (written): The Exegesis of Volume 9 and Volume 10 from Tafsir Nemuneh (Sura Yusuf, Ar-Ra’d and Ibrahim). The Exegesis field written exam (multiple test) will be held on Saturday, 3 March 2018 at 2:30PM in library of Islamic Center Hamburg
V. Recitation Imitation: In this competition, which is carried out in one round, the participants are given four recitations, from which they must select one and imitate as best as possible. There are recitations from: "Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi", "Abdul Basit 'Abd us-Samad", "Mustafa Ismail" and "Shahat Mohammad Anwar" provided. Notes:

I. The opening ceremony of this round of competitions will be held on Friday, 2 March 2018 at 5:00PM and the closing ceremony will be on Sunday, 4 March 2018. All the contestants must be present during the competitions.
II. All the contestants will be hosted by Islamic Center Hamburg but bringing personal stuff (blanket, towel, …) is in participants responsibility.
III. These competitions will be held at the presence of international judges and professionals in the fields.
